Brisbane Gopa Kuteeram

Gopa Kuteeram program was launched in Brisbane in February 2018 as monthly classes for children aged 5 to 15 years.   
 
Since March 2020, classes are conducted on fortnightly Sundays on Zoom at 4 pm for 1.5 hours. In 2021, classes will continue to run on fortnightly Sundays alternating between Zoom and face-to-face at the Taigum State School Hall, Handford Road, Taigum. GK classes are conducted in English.

The curriculum includes:

• Prayers with Maha Mantra
• Shlokas and Bhajans
• Stories and Values from Puranas
• Celebration of various Hindu festivals and discussion of their significance
• Various Hindu rituals and their significance
• Structured teaching of Itihasas like Ramayana with a focus on life lessons
• Annual GK event for Janmashtami celebrations with Skit, dance performances, palki procession, Jhoola with baby Krishna and Dahi Handi breaking ritual.
• School holiday workshops
• Group discussions, role plays, games, fun activities like Kahoot quiz, Charades and Hangman
