Gopa Kuteeram (GK) program was launched in Sydney on Sunday, 16th August 2009 at Parramatta Scout Hall, Parramatta.  The GK program continued at the Crestwood community centre, Baulkham Hills for a few years and relocated to Sydney Namadwaar in 2016.

Since April 2020, the program is conducted online via zoom. From 2023, the GK classes will be both at Sydney Namadwaar and also on Zoom.

Classes are grouped into three levels:
L1 – Kindergarten – School year 2
L2 – School year 3 – 5
L3 – School year 6 – 9

GK program is conducted in English and classes are run on fortnightly Sunday evenings during school terms.

The curriculum for the program is appropriate to the age groups of various levels.  The curriculum includes:

  • Prayers with Maha Mantra
  • Shlokas and Bhajans
  • Core aspects of Sanatana Dharma
  • Stories and Values from Puranas   
  • Stories from the lives of saints
  • Celebration of Hindu festivals and explanation of their significance
  • Various Hindu rituals/traditions and their significance
  • Structured teaching of the two Itihasas – Ramayana and Mahabharatha with a focus on Values and Life Lessons
  • Structured teaching of Bhagavad Gita
  • The teaching of Life skills – ‘Smart Living’ – A series of Growth Mindset workshop sessions that include specific concepts, discussions and exercises for self-development.
  • Group discussions, exercises, games, role-plays and Kahoot Quiz
  • School holiday workshops
  • Participation in Clean up Australia day
