A number of educational activities are currently being conducted on a weekly and monthly basis at various locations in Sydney by GOD for both children and adults.

Monthly Study Classes for Children


A structured education program/study class for children aged 5 – 12 years, called “Gopa Kuteeram” was launched on Sunday, 16th August 2009. The aim of the program is to bring children together to learn about the various aspects of the Hindu religion and the universal values and to enable them to assimilate these qualities from a young area. The classes are conducted on the 3rd Sunday of every month in English and are open to all children in the community. The classes are offered on a NO FEE basis to the participating children.

Day: 4th Sunday of every month

Time: 4.00 – 5.30 pm

Venue: Parramatta Scout Hall, Webb Street, Parramatta

Teachers: Saroja Narayanan & Jayashree Ramakrishnan

Age group of children: 5 – 12 years

Program schedule: Chanting, Prayer, Slokas, bhajans, Back to Basics – Story on God, It is good to be GOOD – virtue/value of the month, Worship time, Game time and conclude with chanting

Monthly Study Groups for Adults


A regular monthly study group expounding the holy text, Srimad Bhagavatham is conducted once a month in Sydney.  The study group class aims to learn to chant he dhyana slokas, Pancha sthuthis and Pancha Geetham from Srimad Bhagavatham, aided by the audio recorded version of the poems and songs rendered by Poornima. Kumarasami.  The group also discusses the salient features and the meaning of each chapter/Canto of Srimad Bhagavatham.  

Day: 1st Friday of every month

Time: 8 pm – 9 pm

Venue: Residence of one of the members

Program schedule: Chanting of dhyana slokas of Srimad Bhagavatham, learning to recite a new sthuthi/Geetham, group discussion on each chapter/canto of Srimad Bhagavatham and learning a few bhajans.
