In the second school term, L1 children learnt several simple stories from puranas and had interactive discussions about developing simple universal values, such as honesty, respect, sharing etc. L2 children learnt about sage Adi Shankara in detail and also stories from Srimad Bhagavatam and activities relating to associated moral/universal values from these stories connecting to their daily lives. L3 children continued to learn Srimad Bhagavatham and Bhagavad Gita. An interactive session on ‘Goal setting’ was delivered by Sitara Ramakrishnan, student from University of Sydney during May class.
In the last GK class in June, GK team had organised a session on ‘Leading a healthy life’, focusing on healthy food, exercise and healthy life practices (senior children). This session was delivered by Dr Ashwin Bhaskaran of Westmead Hospital. Children participated well and benefited immensely from the session.
